Dr. Abraham J. Lopez is a licensed psychologist with extensive experience in performing psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for conditions across the age span.

Dr. Lopez is only available to see pediatric patients through The El Paso Children’s Hospital. His primary role is to assess neurological, developmental, and psychological conditions. Work through the children’s hospital also includes evaluating pediatric patients that have endured chemotherapy treatment or pre/post neurosurgery.

He holds an appointment of Clinical Assistant Professor (Community Faculty) for the Department of Psychiatry at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine: Texas Tech University Health Science Center of El Paso.

Dr. Lopez has prior experience working with patients at local rehabilitation facilities, memory clinics, and hospitals for individuals who have undergone surgery, are enduring a terminal illness, or struggle with neurological disorders like Epilepsy, Dementia and Parkinson's Disease.

Dr. Lopez graduated from New Mexico State University with an undergraduate degree in psychology. He completed a master’s degree in media psychology from Fielding Graduate University and later obtained a second master’s degree in clinical psychology from Saybrook University.

Dr. Lopez completed a doctorate (Ph.D.) in clinical psychology from Saybrook University. His internship took place with Lone Star Psychology Internship Consortium (APPIC), which provided extensive training in psychological and neuropsychological assessments, and providing psychotherapy to various age groups and populations.

Dr. Lopez completed his neuropsychological post-doctoral training at McKinney Neuropsychology working with the pediatric population and at Neuropsychological Consultants working with the geriatric population, both in the Dallas, Texas area. Dr. Lopez’ additional training includes a certificate in cognitive behavioral therapy and the completion of a master psychopharmacology program at the Neuroscience Education Institute and a Postdoctoral Specialization in Neuropsychology from Fielding Graduate University.
