Dr. López is a bilingual clinical neuropsychologist who assesses attention and concentration, problem solving, learning, memory, and psychological concerns. He earned his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and completed postdoctoral training in the specialized field of Clinical Neuropsychology.
His advanced training in cognitive-behavioral therapy, epilepsy, dementias, brain injury, and developmental concerns like autism and ADHD has provided him with a deep understanding of the diagnosis, management, and treatment of a broad range of neurological, developmental, and neurocognitive disorders. His clinical experience spans pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
In addition to his work at LarLo Behavioral Services, Dr. López holds clinical appointments and hospital privileges at El Paso Children’s Hospital and University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC), where he collaborates with the neurology department. He works closely with the epilepsy team and participates in procedures such as the Wada test (intracarotid sodium amobarbital procedure) as well as providing neuropsychological evaluations for individuals presenting with diverse neurological and neurocognitive conditions. He also participates as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (community faculty). He additionally offers training experience to psychology doctoral students and psychiatry physician residents.
Dr. Lopez additionally provides independent medical evaluations (IMEs) for developmental, neurological, and neuropsychiatric conditions, designed to provide an objective, third-party evaluation of an individual’s cognitive, emotional, and psychological functioning.
Dr. López has co-authored multiple professional publications and is currently participating in research and clinical trial studies. Fluent in both English and Spanish, he is committed to providing evidence-based care. He is also an active member of several national neuropsychology and rehabilitation organizations.
